Genomics and Dairy Cattle- Sarah Ervin


A new way to develop a better specie of dairy cattle is through the new genomics technology offered by some artificial insemination companies. Genomics is a way to look at the genetic potential of an animal through its DNA samples. This allows for someone to breed good cows to good bulls, ultimately developing a genetically superior group of dairy cattle. This technology is also available for beef cattle, as well.
